In mid-September of 2015, Cadillac announced a peculiar partnership coinciding with the launch of its new XT5. The SRX-replacing CUV debuted not in the U.S. but rather U.A.E., on the eve of the Dubai Motor Show, at a fashion show, with the pre-fall collection. Cadillac’s peculiar partnership was with “acclaimed fashion designers Public School” (it is plural because Public School is two people).
Where I’m going with this is that Cadillac put out a series of short, mostly boring videos documenting their collaboration. However, the one titled: Countdown to Dubai: Public School | Cadillac XT5 had an interesting clip. The total video is only 15 seconds long and this particular portion is about one second, occurring at roughly the 0:05 mark.
Here is a screengrab that’s been slightly enhanced.
Fun fact: In August of 2015, Cadillac launched the Cadillac Capsule Collection, fall fashion wear by top emerging designers and priced from $60 to $2,000.
Fun fact: Cadillac has a multi-season partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). They also sponsor several events focused on men’s fashion, including the first-ever New York Men’s Fashion Week and New York Men’s Day.
