I’ve been wanting to share this for a couple of months. About a block away in my by-no-means-swanky neighborhood this unassuming driveway’s typical Accord was frequently displaced by myriad vehicles that would hang around for a couple days or a week, then be swapped out.
Some of the wildest rides (e.g., Corvette, Viper, Raptor, F-Type) would show up only to be replaced by something less wild (e.g., Prius, Volt, Titan XD). My curiosity raced but the key was that they were always new.
On May 3, 2016, this Tesla Model X P90D was the auto du jour. Naturally, I started taking pictures.
To my great fortune, a friendly fellow stepped out of the house and we started talking. As it turns out, he is an editor for one of the major online auto outlets—only houses away! He graciously gave me permission to take pictures of the vehicles, even from his property.
While he did not ask me to hide his identity I have chosen to do so to err on the side of caution—especially if I plan to grill him for information in the future (just kidding Mystery Car Guy).
Fun fact: he too ran an auto website before using it as a resume to get hired as an editor for… oh, almost gave it away.
