Chrysler’s 1992 Cirrus concept had rear-hinged (a.k.a. suicide) rear doors allowing it to do without a B-pillar. Motivating the early cab-forward design was a 3.0-liter, V6 engine which was an alcohol-burning, turbocharged two-stroke. It generated 400 horsepower while only requiring about half the under-hood space of a comparable four-stroke engine.
