During 1999, Mercury showed off their Marauder Sedan concept in the wake of the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Impala SS, after 1996. In 2002, just before the sedan went into production for 2003, this two-door convertible version showed up.

The Mercury Marauder Convertible concept featured a 4.6-liter SOHC V8 that produced 335 horsepower. It also had modified suspension and upgraded 18-inch wheels (that border-lined on tacky).

The Mercury Marauder Convertible concept included front bucket seats with a console shifter and reportedly cost in the neighborhood of $300k to build as a one-off. What a looker though.
