I was fishing through news feeds on Facebook and came across this nugget.

In the event that a standard Cadillac CTS-V’s supercharged and intercooled V-8 engine (which puts out a phenomenal 556 HP and 551 pound-feet of torque) is not sufficient to quench your thirst for power, talk to John Hennessey of Hennessey Performance.

He can more than double those horsepower and torque figures for you.

So just how much power can Hennessey Performance equip a CTS-V with? Try 1,226 BHP and 1,109 pound-feet of torque. The CTS is a fairly big car but, under “ideal conditions,” that much power will rocket the VR1200 to 62 MPH from a dead stop in only 2.9 seconds.

What about the quarter mile you wonder? Try 10.2 seconds. Curious what the VR1200 can do in a straight line? A long straight line? The beast can reach 242 MPH before losing its breath.

How does Hennessey pull this off? By replacing the stock CTS-V’s relatively modest 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 with a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V-8.

Interested? You’d better act fast.

Hennessey Performance is only planning to build 12 of them. That’s right, only a dozen people on the face of the earth will experience ownership of one of these creations, and the price reflects it.

Each car will wear a tag with the numbers 295,000 on it. As in dollars.
