Plans for Performance
The 1989 Fiero was anticipated to have implemented the delayed Saginaw hydro-electric power steering unit and, more importantly, if all went well, the 190 bhp Quad 4 engine.

Things were going to get better yet. The 3.4 liter twin dual cam V6 was on tap with 210 bhp for potential duty and there were apparently two prototypes built using all-aluminum space frames which weighed half as much as the steel frames, yet were 40% stiffer.
